Our volunteer assignments range from direct patient contact to working side by side with healthcare professionals; from clerical support to clerking in the Gift Shop.

Whatever your skill and interest, we will take care in assigning you a task that matches your interests, experience and personality.

Grandview Hospital

Random Acts of Kindness Volunteer
Contribute to the hospital’s faith-based environment by uplifting patients, visitors, employees, and physicians in times of need by selecting from an assortment of over 15 people-related activities.

Visiting Area Host/Hostess
Serve as a waiting area greeter/receptionist in our Emergency Department, Main Lobby, and other areas by assisting patients, visitors, and medical personnel with their needs.

Gift Shop
Retail experience is helpful but not a requisite. Suggesting items personally selected for that special some one in the visitor’s life is a “gift” in itself.

Spiritual Care Volunteer
Provide spiritual guidance to people in need after attending a special training program to be a “spiritual care visitor”.

Transporting patients
Get good physical exercise by pushing patients in wheelchairs in our Outpatient Surgery Department, Endoscopy, and other areas.

Office Assistants
Assist with clerical activities such as filing, answering the telephones, collating, greeting people, copying, faxing.

Fundraising
Assist in high level activities that enhance the revenue the volunteers give back to the hospital for patient related projects.

Other new positions are currently being developed depending upon your skills and the hospital needs.

Southview Hospital

Information Desk
Assisting guests in the Registration process, finding a location in the hospital or on campus and answering questions. The volunteer here makes the first and lasting impression!

Gift Shop

Fundraising Opportunities
If you have a background in Fundraising and would like to assist with special projects and high level activities, this is the area for you. You will work closely with the Grandview/Southview Foundation and Administration. This is a vital link between the volunteers and the hospital.

Mother/Baby Maternity Center
Assisting the staff, visitors and new mom’s with daily needs.

Office Assistants
Assist with clerical activities such as filing, answering the telephones, collating, greeting people, copying, faxing.

Visiting Area Hosts
Helping family and visitors feel comfortable, informed and hopeful during the time they are waiting for a loved on in surgery.

Transporting Patients
Working with the professional staff to help keep the surgical areas running smoothly, and transporting the patient to their cars after surgery.

Other new positions are currently being developed. These may include materials management, central processing, clerical support, administrative support, hands-on support for the nursing staff in the patient care units, clergy support, and grounds to name a few.
