Program Description

The Anesthesia Residency program at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center offers opportunities in a variety of specialty disciplines including: cardiac, cardiovascular, thoracic, neurosurgery, general, urology, orthopedic, critical care, ENT, plastic surgery, OB/GYN and chronic pain management. There are approximately 21,000 surgeries of all types performed each year. The equipment is modern and state of the art. The anesthesiology staff consists of eight anesthesiologists, two certified in chronic pain management and two certified in cardiac anesthesiology. The 81 bed satellite hospital houses the OB/GYN facilities and is the primary location for ambulatory surgery. The surgical staff consists of all specialties. The Emergency Department is large and active. The program is currently approved and funded for six residency positions.

The four-year residency program meets all the requirements that are listed in the Basic Standard from the American Osteopathic Association, post-doctoral committee.

Applications for OGME 1 positions can be submitted through ERAS. Elective rotations are highly recommended. All student rotations can be arranged through the CORE office by calling (937) 226-3957 or by submitting an extern application.
