Charles H. Huber Health Center
In 1993, Charles H. Huber Health Center joined the Grandview/Southview health care
delivery system as an urgent care center offering a wide variety of services
and an alternative to a hospital emergency room. Physicians specializing
in cardiology, stomach diseases, pediatrics, maternity and women's health,
and orthopedics have offices in the Center. The Center contains a laboratory,
x-ray and physical medicine and rehabilitation services, in addition to
the Workers' Care program, which provides occupational health services.
In 1997, Charles H. Huber Health Center expanded, adding 30,000 square feet to the
existing 20,000 square-foot facility. The expansion created additional physician
office space, including Dayton Regional Dialysis Inc., the first and only
dialysis center in Huber Heights, along with several physician timeshare
suites, which allow more medical specialties to exist closer to the Huber
Heights community. A community room was also added, where health screenings,
educational programs and other health care activities will be held.
Paragon Diagnostic Center
Opened in 1989, Paragon Diagnostic Center is the hospital's freestanding
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Center. Located in Centerville, the Center
currently has the most-advanced MRI system in the city, producing the area's
clearest, most-detailed MRI images. In addition, the Center boasts faster
scans for greater patient comfort, Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA)
capability, single-image scans of the entire spine, a small field of view
for smaller image areas, the ability to scan patients over 300 pounds, and
a 24-hour turnaround time.
Corwin M. Nixon Community Health Center
In 1982, Claridge Health Center, formerly located on Leo Street, joined
the Grandview family. In 1995, the Center was renamed the Corwin M. Nixon
Community Health Center and moved to its present location on Stanley Avenue.
The Center was dedicated to the Honorable Corwin M. Nixon for his leadership
and tireless efforts to promote Grandview Hospital, its affiliates, and
the osteopathic profession in Dayton.
Owned and operated by Grandview Hospital in partnership with the Combined
Health District, the Center is staffed by family practice physicians, registered
nurses and licensed practical nurses and offers a variety of programs to
its patients, including health care services and free health and wellness
information. The Corwin M. Nixon Community Health Center continually provides
high-quality health care services to underprivileged and low-income families
throughout Montgomery County. In addition, the Center is the area's only
freestanding, dedicated Family Practice Teaching Center for primary care
physicians in training.
