Grandview Hospital Is First in Southwest Ohio
To Receive Chest Pain Center Accreditation

Grandview Hospital is in rare company once again, distinguishing itself with yet another marker of exceptional patient care. Grandview has just become the 12th Ohio hospital and the first in Southwest Ohio to receive accreditation as a Chest Pain Center from the Society of Chest Pain Centers.

Only 91 hospitals in the entire country have this accreditation. It is good for three years and it certifies that Grandview Hospital, two-time winner of HealthGrades' Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence (2004, 2005), has best practices in place to reduce mortality and improve overall outcomes for heart attack victims.

"Being first in Southwest Ohio to achieve this national accreditation helps identify Grandview as a leader in cardiac care throughout the region," said Roy G. Chew, PhD, president of Grandview Medical Center. "This is a great example of the high level of collaborative care and competence our staff demonstrates in serving our patients."

"This substantiates our commitment to quality and excellence at Grandview Medical Center," said Dr. James Laws, DO, chief of cardiology at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center.

The Chest Pain Center's protocol driven and systematic approach to patient management allows physicians to reduce time to treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack, when treatments are most effective, and to better monitor patients to ensure that a patient is neither sent home too early nor needlessly admitted.
