Charles H. Huber Health Center had only six employees when it opened back in 1983. An
urgent care, laboratory, X-ray and registration were its only departments. Today Huber
Health employs 44 people and has added MRI, CT scanning, mammography, pharmacy, physical
therapy, pulmonary medicine, OB/GYN time-share suites and a pair of full-time family
practice physicians – Richard Winger, DO, and Timothy Grigsby, MD.
“I think it’s an integral part of the community,” said Dr. Winger, who has served as
medical director since coming to Huber Health Center in 1993. “Patients come in all the
time saying they ‘don’t know what they would do without us being here.’ Our aspirations
are that it will definitely grow to offer a lot more services for the community, and I
think that’s where we are headed.”
Huber Health Center is part of the Kettering Medical Center Network along with Grandview,
Kettering, Southview and KMC-Sycamore hospitals, Kettering Hospital Youth Services and 47
other satellite facilities. Offering KMCN’s only urgent care, Huber Health Center is
ready for just about anything.
