Welcome to the Kettering ER...
Kettering Hospital's Emergency Department serves the southern portion of Montgomery County and parts of the south Dayton community. Kettering Emergency Department has been serving the public since 1965.

The department is staffed by physicians who specialize in emergency medicine, all of whom are board certified in Emergency Medicine. Nursing care providers include Registered Nurses, Emergency Department Technicians, and LPNs, all of whom are certified in advanced life support. Many (30%) of the nursing staff are also Certified Emergency Nurses. The department sees more geriatric patients than any other emergency department in Dayton, with total volume of patients at approximately 40,000 patients per year. Care is rendered to over 300 patients per month presenting with chest pain, and state of the art protocols are in place to facilitate treating heart attacks with thrombolytic (clot-busting) drugs or treatment in the cardiac catherization lab.

A stroke (brain attack) is a medical emergency and proper medical treatment can make all the difference between life and death... the difference between brain cells that can be saved and brain cells that never recover... the difference between recovery and lifelong impairment   The emergency department has protocols and procedures in place for the treatment of the acute stroke patient . For more stroke information see our KMCN neurosciences web page.
