The Kettering Medical Center Network (KMCN)
The setting at KMCN provides for an excellent learning environment for CPE. KMCN is both a
healthcare and educational institution. The combined Network has over a thousand hospital
beds offering broad services including neurology, ambulatory care, psychiatry, urology,
physical medicine, intensive care and many other services on the cutting edge of medicine.
CPE is based on an adult education model. Students are invited as full participants in the
learning process and therefore expected to take full responsibility for their development
and growth. CPE recognizes each participant as having a unique style of learning and are
encouraged to develop specific learning goals. Curriculum includes, but not limited to,
specific clinical assignment, presentation of case study, weekly critical reflection,
interpersonal relations and individual supervision, and didactics. In the spirit of
Seventh-day Adventist health care ministry, we strive to be innovative and to convey God’s
love in a caring environment.
