Baby Gallery...FAQ
Back to Previous Page.
1. Why can't I find my "new arrival"?
Not all babies born at Kettering Medical Center Network are placed on the Baby Gallery.
Parents must request the Baby Gallery service and sign a special 'internet' consent.
Often patients and families get Baby Gallery confused with the "First Photo" pictures
which are taken and sold to the parents after discharge.
It's possible the baby was born at Kettering Medical Center which has a separate
Baby Gallery.
Also, babies who are born prematurely may not be placed on Baby Gallery until several
weeks after delivery. The decision to take the preemie's picture will be made by the
parents and the Neonatal Intensive Care staff. Often, the picture of the preemie is
taken right before the baby is discharged home.
Finally, pictures may take up to 48 hours to be placed on Baby Gallery.
2. How long do the pictures stay on Baby Gallery?
Pictures of the babies and families are left on Baby Gallery for 60 days. After 60 days,
the pictures will no longer be available, therefore, we encourage family and friends
to print the pages as a keepsake of their "new arrival".
3. Why are last names not used?
For security reasons, no last names and no addresses are placed on Baby Gallery. We
realize that visitors to our site would enjoy sending congratulations to the new
parents, but patient privacy is an important aspect of the care we provide. Please
utilize the Baby Gallery Guestbooks to offer your best wishes to the family.
